    Overview

     

    We are currently looking for an Associate System Engineer (“ASE”) to join our team! The ASE to perform an integral role for a large-scale, logistically complex technology refresh program for a large K-12 client. The selected ASE will be responsible for equipment configuration, and integration of network infrastructure wireless equipment, and Access Control for a large K-12 client.

     

    This role supports both on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of business-critical systems. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in Python scripting, Cisco Meraki network management, Cisco CCNA-level networking, and Microsoft Office 365 administration.

     

    Depending upon assignments, travel throughout Long Island and the five boroughs of NYC is to be expected.

     

    Salary: $60,000-$75,000

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Design, configure, and maintain local and wide area networks, including Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.

    + Manage and administer Microsoft Office 365 environment, including user accounts, licensing, email systems, and SharePoint.

    + Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate administrative tasks and improve system monitoring and reporting.

    + Perform network and systems troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.

    + Support and maintain servers, endpoints, and network devices in compliance with company standards.

    + Monitor system performance and implement upgrades or changes as needed.

    + Ensure security best practices are applied across all systems and network configurations.

    + Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for escalated IT issues.

    + Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

    + Document all configurations, procedures, and system changes in accordance with IT policies.

    + Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to implement technology projects.

    + Travel to company or client sites as required to support IT operations and infrastructure needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in system and network engineering or a similar IT role.

    + Technical Skills:

    + Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation and systems management.

    + Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki devices and dashboard management.

    + CCNA-level knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and network protocols.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).

    + Certifications: Cisco CCNA preferred; additional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified) are advantageous.

    + Other Requirements:

    + Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    + Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

    + Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining system security and reliability.

    + Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between work sites as required.

    Working Conditions:

    + Standard office environment with occasional travel to remote sites.

    + May require after-hours or on-call support in the event of system outages or critical maintenance.

    + Must be able to lift and move computer equipment as needed (up to 40 lbs).
