As a Field Installation Technician, you will support the installation team, ensuring timely delivery of installation schedules and meeting customer expectations for quality. You will act as the liaison between the customer and the delivery team, effectively communicating installation status, risks, and unforeseen impacts to the delivery schedule.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct detailed reviews of new system installations to confirm prints and ensure functionality as designed.
+ Perform startup and commissioning of new installations.
+ Generate installation and commissioning reports.
+ Support sub-contractors to ensure installation steps are completed with the expected level of quality per the design intent.
+ Conduct training for operations and maintenance teams.
+ Provide phone-based support to customers.
+ Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems during startup phases.
+ Review existing PLC programs to assist with troubleshooting and diagnosing installation and commissioning steps.
+ Verify inventory of delivered components to ensure all parts are available for installation.
+ Communicate with the customer throughout the installation phase regarding inquiries and requirements from the customer scope of work.
+ Solicit and gather feedback from sub-contractors to support continuous improvement of installation processes and standards.
+ Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers to mitigate potential field issues during installation.
+ Provide daily communication of project status, including punch list items and risks to project delivery.
+ Identify potential risks during installation and develop mitigation strategies.
+ Monitor and evaluate risk factors to support proactive decision-making.
+ Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and completeness of installations.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with electrical, mechanical, troubleshooting, pneumatic systems, and conveyor systems.
+ Knowledge of 480v and 24v controls panels.
+ Experience in the manufacturing industry and environment.
+ Installation and field service expertise.
+ Proficiency in commissioning and pneumatic systems.
+ PLC troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree or equivalent.
+ 2+ years of experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial equipment (pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical).
Work Environment
Work in industrial facilities at customer locations supporting various industries. Expect to travel 80%-100% of the time.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
