    Role Overview

     

    This role is a unique opportunity for a technically skilled and collaborative engineer to drive meaningful improvements across four chemical process operations. Rather than focusing on daily operations, this position emphasizes mid- to long-term initiatives that enhance reliability, documentation, training, and compliance. You’ll work cross-functionally with experienced and newly integrated team members, contributing to a dynamic environment shaped by recent organizational changes.

    Key Objectives

    + Clear backlog of technical and operational action items.

    + Support and implement process reliability and training improvements.

    + Drive long-term enhancements in documentation, safety, and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    + Partner with site technical and operations teams to resolve outstanding PHA, MOC, and optimization action items across 1–4 chemical processes.

    + Validate and report environmental data for permitting and annual compliance.

    + Review and enhance plant documentation, including procedures and P&IDs, to improve clarity and usability.

    + Develop and execute pressure safety design packages.

    + Collaborate with engineering teams to scope and plan process and reliability improvement projects.

    + Contribute to the development and refinement of plant training programs.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related engineering discipline.

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

    + Strong understanding of chemical processes and risk management (OSHA PSM/EPA RMP).

    + Proven ability to lead small teams and work independently.

    + Excellent communication skills—both technical and non-technical.

    + Intermediate proficiency in relevant software tools.

    This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, MO.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
