    Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) - Ames, IA

     

    We are seeking a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) to execute the technical and clinical demands of study protocols. This includes performing venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs monitoring, electrocardiograms, IV infusions, and other necessary clinical procedures. The role involves attending meetings to gain training on drug preparation and administration, and maintaining knowledge about study drugs, specifically injections and intravenous infusions.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct venipuncture, specimen processing, vital signs, electrocardiograms, IV infusions, and other protocol-specific procedures.

    + Participate in investigator meetings, site initiation visits, and coordinator meetings.

    + Maintain accurate dispensing logs and document laboratory data and adverse reactions.

    + Assist other staff members based on the needs and priorities of the research organization.

    + Actively recruit and communicate the status of patient referrals and recruitment efforts.

    + Maintain communication with monitors from sponsoring companies.

    + Prepare study documentation for sponsor or FDA audits.

    + Order and monitor clinical supplies and rescue drugs.

    + Monitor and maintain storage temperatures for safety and stability.

    + Act as the OSHA Representative, maintaining employee immunization records.

    + Perform equipment calibration and support training and development of clinical skills for site staff.

    + Travel to other sites within the network as needed to support workload increases.

    Essential Skills

    + Registered Nurse with active RN license for the applicable state.

    + 1+ years of prior CRC/CRN/Research experience is ideal.

    + 2+ years of nursing experience including vaccines, phlebotomy, and IV insertion.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Chart review and patient recruitment.

    + Experience with EDC and EMR systems.

    + Knowledge of clinical research and GCP.

    + Experience in pre-screening patients.

    Work Environment

    This role requires 5 days on-site work, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. The position offers the opportunity to support one of the largest site networks in the US, with potential for advancement within the organization

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
