Job Description

Join our team as an Electrical Engineer and take charge of designing electrical systems for commercial buildings using Revit. You will manage 2-4 projects at a time, providing client-facing updates on the electrical aspects and reviewing shop drawings during the construction administration phase. Regular attendance at project meetings with contractors and other engineers is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Design electrical systems for commercial buildings in Revit.

+ Provide client-facing updates for 2-4 projects simultaneously.

+ Review shop drawings during construction administration.

+ Attend regular project meetings with contractors and engineers.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in MEP and electrical engineering.

+ Experience in electrical design and electrical building design.

+ Strong skills in Revit and electrical systems.

+ Professional Engineer designation is a plus.

+ Minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience in electrical commercial design.

+ Direct experience with electrical commercial building systems design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

+ 3+ years of experience using Revit.

+ EIT certification is preferred.

Work Environment

The position offers a spacious office on the outskirts of downtown where you will have your own office space. The team consists of six staff members, including four engineers and two drafters, fostering a family environment with regular social events like family dinners and baseball games. Most work is based in Iowa, with periodic visits to project sites. The role typically requires 40-50 hours per week, with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and summer hours from Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with Fridays from 8 AM to 12 PM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
