    Job Title: Research Associate II (Part-Time)

    Job Description

    The Research Associate II will collaborate with supervising scientists and the broader research team to develop and perform standard assays for specific projects. The role involves functioning semi-independently to troubleshoot issues and think creatively to improve existing protocols. The position requires close collaboration with colleagues in other research areas and may involve more complex and specialized aspects of a specific project. The associate will keep abreast of current publications related to methods, techniques, and developments within the research area and carry out specific experiments, usually focused on a single greater research and development aim in one technical area.

    Responsibilities

    + Execute experiments independently, requiring assistance in the design and analysis.

    + Collaborate internally with scientists and other research associates to interrogate novel therapies.

    + Setup and maintain a highly functioning lab, including in-depth maintenance and function of specialized equipment.

    + Analyze and present experimental data to project teams.

    + Generate and maintain electronic lab notebook reports.

    + Run In-Vivo studies working with mice.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with basic molecular biology protocols such as PCR, Western, and RT-PCR is a plus.

    + Preferred experience with CAR-T immuno-ocology studies.

    + Experience running in vivo models, K analysis, proficient with prism.

    + Proficiency in using and analyzing common immunology and oncology assays.

    + Experience with flow cytometry assays and analysis; cell sorting experience is a plus.

    + Proficient in sterile tissue culture techniques and experience working with human cells is a plus.

    + Experience recording data in electronic notebooks.

    + Ability to learn new protocols quickly and think critically.

    + Capability to plan experiments and manage time independently.

    + Effective communication and discussion of results with other scientists on the team.

    + Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis software packages such as Prism, Flow Jo, and Spotfire.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + BSc in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, oncology, or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

    + MSc in biotechnology, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, oncology, or related field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

    + General comfort in learning to work with new software and automated lab equipment.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes a matrixed setting where collaboration with various teams is essential. The role requires comfort in learning to work with new software and automated lab equipment, fostering a dynamic and innovative research atmosphere.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of South San Francisco, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.48/hr.
