Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to create independent drawings and specifications for diverse and challenging projects. The role involves working closely with project design teams and customers to deliver electrical system and equipment design services. You will be responsible for designing medium and low voltage utility service entrances, power distribution, lighting, and motor controls. Additionally, you will develop basis of design reports and perform calculations related to short circuits, load flow, voltage drop, and arc flash.
Responsibilities
+ Create independent drawings and specifications from scratch.
+ Perform rudimentary load calculations.
+ Collaborate with project design teams and customers to provide electrical system and equipment design services.
+ Develop and draft basis of design reports.
+ Perform short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, and arc flash calculations.
+ Conduct circuit ampacity and conduit fill calculations.
+ Present findings and integrated solutions to the customer via written reports and oral presentations.
+ Prepare detailed specifications, contract drawings, and contractor bid packages.
Essential Skills
+ Low Voltage Design (480V power design and below).
+ Industrial project electrical design experience.
+ Single line diagrams design.
+ Sizing wire and conduit.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical system modeling performance software such as SKM or ETAP.
+ Knowledge of standards including NEC, NYC Building Codes, Energy Codes, NFPA Recommended Standards, and ConEdison Installation Standards/Blue Book.
+ 5+ years of electrical design experience in industrial, municipal, educational, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or manufacturing facilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (required).
+ Working towards obtaining EIT/PE license.
+ Experience designing motor control centers, low voltage switchgear, and coordinating designs with equipment vendors.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
+ Experience with electrical design for wastewater treatment, municipal/public projects, schools, and transit systems.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, based in Bridgewater, NJ. The position involves primarily office-based design work, with occasional site visits for field surveys and inspections. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $70.00/hr.
