Job Title: Entry Level Electrical EngineerJob Description

As an Entry Level Electrical Engineer, you will begin your career as a Design Coordinator if you have not yet obtained your Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification. Under the guidance of Project Managers and Project Engineers, you will play a critical role in the design and development of electrical substations, including preparing engineering drawings, calculations, and reports.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports, and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium, and High Voltage).

+ Create calculations, design sketches, and redline drawings.

+ Collaborate with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications.

+ Develop design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communication plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.

+ Conduct site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in electrical engineering and design.

+ Experience with AutoCAD.

+ Electrical Engineering Degree.

+ EIT Certification or plan to take FE.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Substation experience.

+ Experience with electric utilities.

Work Environment

The position is based in Nashville, TN. You will work four days in the office and one day from home after the initial training period. The company is keen on growing its Nashville office. This is a Contract position based out of Brentwood, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
