    Job Title: Paint Process EngineerJob Description

     

    Lead quality process, material, cost, productivity, safety, environmental, and equipment improvement initiatives within the paint department. Ensure vehicle and process integrity with safety as a top priority.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead and support change management within the paint group.

    + Provide daily process support ensuring minimal downtime within the line.

    + Lead new material introductions to ensure no negative impact on KPIs.

    + Lead equipment and refurbishment projects and/or process changes.

    + Support production-initiated kaizen to ensure no negative impact on KPIs.

    + Question and investigate daily inquiries from production and/or maintenance.

    + Coordinate cross-department investigations.

    + Investigate perceived process and/or equipment problems using systematic analysis.

    + Report identified problems, root causes, possible countermeasures, and recommended solutions to management.

    + Propose the best solution based on cost, time, feasibility, and impact on production and KPI targets.

    + Develop project proposals, strategies, and operating plans.

    Essential Skills

    + Project management

    + Experience with paint systems

    + Knowledge of Fanuc robotics

    + Automotive manufacturing expertise

    + Process improvement skills

    + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

    + Experience with paint in a manufacturing environment

    + Experience with high visibility materials

    + Experience in process improvements and automation engineering

    + Experience with equipment installation

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or another technical field

    + Willingness to work weekends and shutdown periods as necessary

    Work Environment

    The position is based in the Paint Group at the largest manufacturing facility in Kentucky. The environment is hot, dirty, loud, and involves working with many robots. The role requires 70% time on the floor and 30% at the desk. There are opportunities for additional training courses on-site, with benefits including two weeks of PTO, two weeks of paid shutdown, and nine paid holidays per year.

    This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $50.00/hr.
