We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Assistant Project Director in Long Island, NY who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. You’ll be responsible for the management of the project development from conception through completion in accordance with program objectives. You’ll manage and provide construction oversight and resolve complex construction project related challenges.
You’ll be responsible for analyzing and developing reports, meeting minutes, correspondences, project awards, invoices, and assist with development and management of project budgets, schedules, and project controls. You’ll provide effective, skilled project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the client by applying proven project management techniques. Your ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment is a must to be successful at this role.

Responsibilities:
* Review of Invoices, Cost Control Reports, Labor and Wage Rate Compliance, Contract Closeout Documentation
* Oversite of work related to Management of the Design-Build contract, Construction Quality Assurance and Project Commissioning
* Document control and management of PMIS files
* Manage, track and report on, public outreach documents, DBE compliance, and invoice review and processing for payment for the Professional Services contracts
* Perform record-keeping tasks including workflow approvals, composing daily diaries,
* meeting records and maintaining Project logs, RFIs, submittal logs and agreements using a Project Management Information System software
* Maintain detailed files for the State of New York for all Project documents.
* Communicate clearly and timely with the Project Team as issues arise from funding, scheduling, invoicing, contract compliance, change orders, public concerns, etc.
* Monitor permit compliance and coordination of easement closure with other state agencies
* Perform vendor responsibility reviews and provide list of approved vendors to Nassau County monthly
* Review distribute and approve all public facing materials, public interactions, and responses
* Monitor damage and public claims and ensure satisfactory resolution
* On a monthly basis review, comment or approve all DBE, M/WBE, and SDVO documentation
* Assist in document control for contract closeout
* Assist in coordination with design-builder, Nassau County, Suez, and other
* Department staff on issues related to contract compliance, invoices, permit closeout, and contract closeout documents
* Assistant Project Director will assist the Project Director as needed and act for the Project Director, when necessary
* Bachelor degree in Architecture, and Engineering discipline, or Construction Management
* 15+ years’ experience as a Project Manager in the AEC industry
* Ability to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the designers, and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client/facility
* Strong working knowledge of pre-design and pre-construction, building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods OSHA 30 Certification
* Strong people leadership skills along with building and maintaining client relationships
* Knowledge of MEP estimating, scheduling and cost control
* Thorough knowledge of RFI tracking, contract document control, forecast scheduling and costs, preparation of change order review, and review of payments
* Ability to be proactive and incorporate interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships
* Valid drivers license and the ability to travel to project sites
* Possess an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Ideally you'll have,
* A Professional Engineering (PE) license
