    Job Title: 2nd shift Shear Operator

    Job Description

    The Shear Operator is responsible for producing machined parts through programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This role requires adherence to quality controls and safety standards, as well as performing preventive maintenance to ensure cost-effective production of quality products.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct daily preventative maintenance on machinery.

    + Perform first part inspections and in-process quality checks.

    + Read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.

    + Operate shear press and related machinery.

    + Perform sheet metal fabrication and saw operations.

    + Layout and load materials using basic math and handheld measuring tools.

    + Utilize computer output from CAD/CAM systems.

    + Enter instructions including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.

    + Experience with metalworking or hollow metal fabrication.

    + Dexterity with manufacturing equipment, basic power tools, and machinery.

    + Ability to read and understand blueprints, specification sheets, and work orders.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with shear press and press brake operations.

    + Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication.

    + Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
