Job Title: Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery within the Greens and Grounds Department. The position requires a flexible schedule with working hours from 7 am to 3 pm, which adjusts to 6 am to 2 pm during the spring and summer months.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain and repair all machinery in the Greens and Grounds Department.

+ Communicate with the Director of Agronomy and Assistant Superintendents regarding equipment availability, damage, or problems.

+ Generate, document, and track all inventory items related to the position.

+ Develop and monitor preventive and curative equipment maintenance programs.

+ Organize and utilize the shop repair area to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

+ Plan creative alterations to existing equipment to prolong life expectancy and usefulness.

Essential Skills

+ Certification in gas and diesel engine repairs and maintenance.

+ Experience in hydraulic concepts and maintenance.

+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lead position with an aggressive golf course maintenance operation.

+ Experience in record keeping, budget tracking, and organization.

+ Knowledge in the use and maintenance of a computer and communication system.

+ Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a RIDEM Pesticide Applicators License.

+ Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Massachusetts Engineers Hoisting License if necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to perform routine activities such as bending, carrying objects, and using common hand tools.

+ Capability to operate in all types of weather and maintain a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sometimes heavier objects with the aid of a helping device.

This is a Contract position based out of Mashpee, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
