Position Description
The BOLT ( Building Opportunities & Learning Together ) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. KINDER MORGAN Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 79 ,000 miles of pipelines and 1 39 terminals. BUSINESS UNIT: CO2 Kinder Morgan CO2 is the largest transporter of carbon dioxide in North America. We transport approximately 800 m illion cubic feet per day of CO2 from our source fields in southwest Colorado to New Mexico and West Texas for use in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects. The CO2 helps unlock and recover crude oil from mature oil fields and residual oil zones. We use a good portion of this CO2 in our own EOR projects, and we sell CO2 to third-party customers.
Position Requirements
Position Description: Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking candidates for summer engineering interns in reservoir, production, facility construction and gas plant operations. Locations are in Houston, Midland, Snyder and Iraan Texas.
Duties include: Reservoir Evaluation - General analysis of sub-surface formations for oil recovery performance. Evaluate fluid flow between wells, Injection and production mass balance. Aquifer and water disposal formation performance. Oil recovery and decline curve analysis. EOR methods application, CO2 and Waterfloods. Well performance variance from forecasts. Wellbore condition evaluation. Revenue, Operating cost and Profitability analysis.
Production Operations - Providing on-site field engineering support for production operations. Analysis and support for Horizontal Drilling Programs. Evaluating facility design limitations. Evaluating workover, recompletion and stimulation candidates. Evaluating and implementing well changes. Preparing wellwork procedures. Analyzing and optimizing field production. Preparing authority for expenditures. Supervising work crews, rig work, etc. Plant Operations - Engineering support such as modeling or analyzing process systems, optimization of plant processes. Operations support such as troubleshooting of process equipment and plant operations. Identifying, reporting, and correcting safety and environmental concerns. Developing solutions to equipment problems. Design and modification of new or existing process systems or equipment. Preparation of project cost estimates. Onsite supervision of work crews. Project cost tracking.
Facilities - Engineering support such as modeling or analyzing piping and infrastructure. Onsite supervision of work crews. Developing solutions to equipment problems. Design calculations for equipment and safety systems. Project development and implementation. Cost estimating and AFE preparation. Drawing and documentation support.
