    Job Title: Sewing Technician

    Job Description

    This position requires expertise in operating industrial sewing machines, including Straight Stitch (single and double needle), Walking Foot, Bartack, Buttonhole, and 3 Thread Rolled Hem Serger. The candidate will undergo safety and operational training and must be able to interpret soft-goods fabrication and assembly drawings. Proficiency in creating soft-goods patterns is essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Sew materials by hand and/or sewing machine to join, gather, reinforce, or decorate materials or fabricated articles.

    + Cut materials according to specifications or trim excess material or thread from finished products using a blade, scissors, or electric knife.

    + Examine and measure finished articles to ensure they meet quality standards.

    + Monitor machine operation to detect problems like defective stitching or machine malfunctions.

    + Mount attachments and adjust machine guides as per specifications.

    + Thread machines and position materials for sewing operations.

    + Remove finished materials from the sewing machine, replace needles, and maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality.

    + Record material processing in production logs.

    + Ensure product quality and accuracy in accordance with fabrication instructions and drawings.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient use and operation of industrial sewing machines.

    + Ability to read and interpret soft-goods fabrication and assembly drawings.

    + Expertise in fabricating soft-goods patterns.

    + Ability to sew materials to tight tolerances.

    + Proficiency in cutting materials to precise specifications.

    + Experience in monitoring machine operations to detect issues.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 5+ years of industrial sewing experience.

    + High School Diploma.

    + Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.54 - $34.01/hr.
