Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Level III Machinist, machine shop operator, to join our dynamic team in a large-scale machine shop. In this role, you will be responsible for performing metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring tasks according to blueprint specifications. Your work will contribute to the production of high-quality parts that will undergo a final quality inspection before completion.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring adherence to control plans and quality standards.

+ Transport materials using forklifts and pallet jacks, and operate wash tanks.

+ Perform quality checks using dial gauges, calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

+ Troubleshoot and solve everyday operational problems.

+ Assist with general duties around the machine shop to ensure smooth production flow.

+ Maintain production, quality, and housekeeping standards.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with CNC machines.

+ Proficiency in using quality measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.

+ Capability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

+ Strong math skills for precise measurement and quality assessment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.

+ Proficiency in performing quality inspections on finished parts.

+ Deburring experience is advantageous.

Available Shifts & Pay

+ 1st shift: 7AM-3PM, Monday - Friday ($24.47)

+ 2nd shift: 3PM-11PM, Monday - Friday ($25.33)

+ 3rd shift: 11PM-7AM, Sunday - Thursday ($25.33)

Work Environment

Our machine shop is a large, temperature-controlled facility with a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety is a top priority. The environment is relaxed, with a casual dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hats. All necessary PPE, such as earplugs and protective glasses, are provided, and adherence to safety protocols is essential. Shifts are flexible, with opportunities for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
