Job Title: Environmental Technician

Job Description

Join a large nationwide environmental company as a Forklift Operator/Material Handler. You will play a crucial role in managing and transporting drums of waste, accurately identifying and sorting labeled substances, and ensuring proper loading and off-loading of these materials onto trucks. Your responsibilities will include separating hazardous from non-hazardous waste, maintaining cleanliness by sweeping the warehouse, and adhering to safety standards. We provide certification for the 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification as part of your training.

Responsibilities

+ Transport drums of waste and load/offload them onto trucks.

+ Identify and label drums filled with different substances.

+ Separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste in the warehouse.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment by sweeping the warehouse.

+ Complete required documentation and labeling accurately.

Essential Skills

+ General labor and materials handling experience.

+ Experience with forklift operation, wastewater, hazardous materials, and waste sorting.

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.

+ Strong communication skills to understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English.

+ Basic computer skills for web-based training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Preferred experience in environmental, wastewater, or hazmat fields.

+ Positive attitude and strong motivation to succeed and advance within the role.

+ 1+ year of environmental labor experience preferred.

+ OSHA 10 certification is preferred but not required; training and certification provided.

+ Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as needed.

Work Environment

Work at a hazardous waste disposal facility that offers a range of services for managing, treating, and disposing of various waste streams. The job requires working both indoors and outdoors, often in non-climate-controlled conditions. Safety gear, including safety glasses, hard hats, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirators, will be provided and must be worn. The work is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking over uneven surfaces, and operating forklifts in a safe manner.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hatfield, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
