Description

Our trusted client is seeking an experienced Part-Time Senior Tax Accountant Consultant for a long-term engagement. This role requires a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual who excels in managing tax preparation, reconciliations, and financial data accuracy. This part-time role is located in Grosse Point, Michigan.

The Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file accurate individual, corporate, and sales tax returns on a quarterly and annual basis.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank accounts, ensuring all financial records match and discrepancies are resolved.

• Utilize QuickBooks to transfer, input, and organize financial information while maintaining system integrity.

• Review and correct any missing or incomplete data to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Handle ad hoc tax-related tasks, including personal tax assistance during peak seasons such as April and year-end.

• Ensure all tax filings are completed on time and adhere to applicable regulations.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address tax inquiries and provide support.

• Monitor and maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.

• Assist with sales tax compliance and reporting requirements.

• Provide expert advice and guidance on tax-related matters to optimize financial operations.

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate will have the following Skillsets:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting, including individual and corporate tax preparation.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for financial management and data input.

• Strong expertise in account and bank reconciliations.

• In-depth knowledge of sales and use tax regulations.

• Proven ability to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle quarterly and annual tax deadlines.

• Familiarity with ad hoc tax operations and personal tax preparation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
