About the Role
Unity House of Troy is seeking a dedicated HUD Specialist to join our Domestic Violence Housing Support Services Program. The ideal candidate will assist victims of domestic violence in securing safe, stable housing and navigating HUD and related housing processes with compassion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assist victims of domestic violence in locating and securing apartments.
+ Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
+ Communicate with landlords regarding code enforcement, leases, inspections, and renewals.
+ Conduct inspections and lease reviews in compliance with federal funding requirements.
+ Provide referrals and connections to supportive community services.
+ Ensure compliance with contract and regulatory standards.
+ Participate in a rotating on-call system (some nights and weekends required).
+ Contribute to a work culture that values inclusion and belonging.
Requirements
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required.
+ Experience: Minimum of 2 years of related experience preferred.
+ Other:
+ Valid and current NYS driver’s license.
+ Reliable transportation.
+ Familiarity with HUD, federal, and state housing regulations preferred (training available).
