    Electrification & Automation

     

    The Electrification & Automation (E&A) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing in our Future Grids portfolio to create the power distribution grid of the future.

     

    We are looking for a Welder. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.

     

    **Shift Hours** : 6:00AM- 2:30PM

    **Hourly Rate** : $24.79

    You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications

    + 2+ years of welding experience; proficient in TIG/MIG welding and basic computer skills.

    + Able to read 2D and 3D blueprints; competent in interpreting weld symbols and methods from engineering drawings.

    + Capable of selecting appropriate welding equipment; setting up components per specifications; using angle grinders to prep and finish welds.

    + Skilled in testing and inspecting welds for flaws; using measurement tools; constructing and using weld jigs for precision parts.

    + Familiar with welding safety standards and PPE; able to reach, grasp, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull/slide materials.

    + Willing to work overtime if needed; must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + High School diploma or equivalent

    + A welding certification

    Responsibilities:

    + Understand and ensure schedules are followed as planned

    + Weld metal parts as required by Siemens engineered drawings

    + Certify and Monitor Welding functions.

    + Insure that the Welding department at Siemens WLL complies with Siemens Regulations.

    + Train on Siemens Regulation 18_IN_36, 18_ST_76.

    + Review Siemens Welding drawings.

    + Deal with welding quality issues and support improving welding functions.

    + Participate quarterly with the Siemens Global Welding Community.

    + Assist in other vital functions of Sheet Metal Fabrication such as Spotweld and PEMsert.

    * The hourly pay for this position is $24.79/hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
