    We are looking for a Agricultural (Ag) Sales Advisor to join our Agricultural Solutions team in support of the Northern Iowa territory.

    As a Agricultural (Ag) Sales Advisor, you will develop and maintain business relationships with retailers, growers and consultants identified as strategic to BASF. Serving as a local agronomic expert, you will position BASF seed, crop protection and seed treatment products with Growers to help enable them to maximize yield and profit from their operations. In addition, you will serve as the business lead with assigned Retailers for BASF seed products. You will be accountable for achieving annual sales targets on seed, crop protection and seed treatments with assigned Retailers and Growers. This role requires your willingness to travel overnight/weekly up to 15%.

     

    As a Agronomic Sales Advisor - Northern Iowa (Field) - Iowa, you create chemistry by...

     

    + Establishing business and agronomic planning with key growers, including business strategizing and tactics that meet the needs of targeted growers. You will be acting as the primary contact from BASF, including strategizing and tactics for both short-term and long-term.

    + Creating a plan for the top retailers in that territory for CP, Seed, and ST, as well as driving Seed conversations at Retail with the Seed Manager, Agronomist, and local Retail sales team. This includes making joint grower calls to get the “right seed on the right acre”. You will be utilizing all of these relationships to position BASF as the leader in your market with targeted customers (Retail and Grower) and exceeding budget.

    + Creating demand for BASF seed and chemical products with assigned growers and retailers and establishing business plans including sales targeting, forecasting, positioning varieties, and taking action with assigned Retailers for seed.

    + Being a trusted adviser to your customers on agronomics, seed varieties, and chemistry.

    + Developing an area/territory plan annually that includes overall business objectives, strategies for growth, identification of top customers, and an action plan to achieve overall growth.

    + Accurately forecasting brand sales with assigned customers and achieving financial goals. Maintaining adherence to KPIs related to volume, share, value, and financial sales targets.

    + Working relationships with local sales teams, technical service representatives, and strategic account managers to support the implementation of customer plans. Additionally, you will be establishing a strong partnership with your BR and aligning on a strategic plan toward targeted retailers and growers to achieve goals.

    + Developing and executing market strategies to launching new products per established goals, market development execution, crop activities, and product positioning.

    + Have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of professional experience.

    + Are proficient in verbal and written communication with a strong emphasis on professionalism.

    + Exhibit strong business acumen in all aspects of the role.

    + Possess a proven track record in sales.

    + Demonstrate exceptional time and resource management abilities.

    + Utilize analytical skills to drive strategic decision-making.

    + Are proficient in utilizing various digital tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and meeting targets by effectively utilizing digital tools such as Xarvio, and Sales X to achieve optimal results.

    Pay transparency

     

    BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $89,600 - $123,200. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
