    What Success Looks Like In This Job

     

    Under the guidance of the Business Services Supervisor, the Business Services Lead serves as the operational point of coordination for the Business Services division within the Facilities and Fleet Management Department. This position ensures seamless daily operations across multiple service areas, including front desk, mailroom, fleet pool vehicle coordination/assistance, and conference center activities, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, communication, and excellent service delivery.

     

    The Lead acts as the bridgebetween front-line staff and the Supervisor, supporting process improvements, handling escalated inquiries, and promoting consistency across sites. While this position provides day-to-day guidance and operational support to team members, it does not perform formal supervisory duties such as hiring, evaluating, or disciplining staff.

     

    The anticipated hiring range is Hiring Range = $24.06 - $27.67. The full salary range is $24.06 - $33.68.

     

    Examples of Duties for Success

     

    + Operational Coordination:Coordinate and support day-to-day activities across business service functions, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with departmental standards.

    + Continuity Support:Serve as a reliable point of contact and backup to the Supervisor to maintain operations during absences or high-volume periods.

    + Process and Service Improvement: Identify operational gaps, recommend workflow improvements, and support equitable distribution of tasks across service areas.

    + Customer Service Escalation:Respond to elevated inquiries and resolve service issues when possible; escalate complex concerns to the Supervisor as needed.

    + Mailroom and Dock Support:Assist in coordinating mail and package delivery logistics, maintaining communication with vendors, and ensuring service reliability.

    + Conference Center Coordination: Support scheduling, event setup, A/V readiness, and logistics for County meetings and events.

    + Fleet:Monitor pool fleet usage, maintenance, and vehicle readiness. .

    + Facilities Readiness: Observe and report facility or custodial issues to ensure public spaces remain professional, accessible, and well-maintained.

    + Training and Onboarding Assistance:Support onboarding and peer mentoring for new staff to reinforce departmental standards, customer service practices, and inclusive culture.

    + Communication Liaison: Facilitate clear communication between staff and the Supervisor regarding operational updates, workload balance, and customer service trends.

    + Data and Record Management:Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation to support operational tracking and continuous improvement.

    + Equity and Service Awareness:Promote equitable treatment of staff and customers by identifying and communicating potential service barriers or inconsistencies.

    + Additional Duties:Perform related tasks as assigned in support of department operations.

     

    Qualifications for Success

     

    + Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

    + Proven customer service excellence and ability to handle escalations with professionalism and empathy.

    + Solid communication and collaboration skills; able to build trust and maintain positive working relationships.

    + Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, A/V systems, and scheduling software (e.g., EventPro, JD Edwards).

    + Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

    + Understanding of facility operations, logistical coordination, and equity in public service delivery.

     

    More Qualifications for Success

     

    Experience: 2 years’ customer service, business operations/business administration experience, including one (1) year of lead experience.

    Education & Training:

    High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

     

    License & Certification: Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation required for on-site work at multiple locations

     

    Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check

    Other:

    + May need to work nights, weekends, or overtime as necessary.

    + Travel between County buildings is also required

    Physical Requirements:

    This position requires a moderate level of physical endurance including the ability to:

    + Sit or stand for extended periods of time.

    + Bend, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach overhead, and twist.

    + Lift up to 50 pounds.
