    Work schedule is full-time 40 hours 8:00AM-4:30PM - Monday - Friday with some rotating holidays required

    Here's What You Need

    Education

     

    Associate's Degree Health Information or Health Related field preferred

    Experience

    1 Year clerical or medical office experience Preferred

     

    Licenses and Certifications

     

    CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist preferred Upon Hire Required Or

     

    ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred Upon Hire Required Or

     

    LMRT Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist preferred Upon Hire Required Or

     

    NCT Non-Certified Radiology Technician preferred Upon Hire Required Or

     

    CNA - Certified Nurses Aide Upon Hire Required Or

     

    EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Upon Hire Required And

     

    BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required

    Skills:

    Demonstrated knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment to ensure safety of patient; Knowledge of basic medical terminology; Demonstrated knowledge of phlebotomy and venipuncture skills is required; Track record of cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships with all levels of clinical and administrative managers within the hospital and community leaders; Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills; Strong customer services skills; Ability to work in fast paced environment under limited supervision.

    What you will do:

    Patient Care:

    Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies) to ensure radiology suite is in working order and ready to use to reduce patient risk.

     

    Reviews physician orders and exam requisitions to ensure the continuity of patient care.

     

    Obtains patient history and determines appropriateness of exam in consultation/collaboration with radiologic technologist.

     

    Greets and acknowledges patient, using two forms of ID to identify correct patient and exam by checking DOB and ID number; verifying accuracy of exam and relevant clinical information.

     

    Provides psychosocial care of the patient, to meet the age specific needs for body image, relationships and communication styles; as well as, physiologic and developmental norms for patients age groups.

     

    Appropriately handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices.

     

    Individualizes care measures to reflect specific patient population. Performs technical procedures safely, proficiently.

     

    Uses proper methods and technologies in the collection of blood.

     

    Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patient and limited mobility devices.( i.e. wheelchair, stretcher, body braces)

     

    Uses Codonics system to make CDs for patient exams to provide accurate patient information.

     

    Collects proper dosages of imaging contrast media (medication) under the direction of the Radiographer.

     

    Cleans hands by washing or disinfecting to ensure the safety of patient and staff.

     

    Appropriately responds to patients in distress.

     

    Uses CPM philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians to enhance customer service and promote patient desired outcomes.

     

    Accurate patient care documentation using the Care Connect System. Verifies patient identity with the assistance of a language interpreter as needed.

    Equipment Operation:

    Operates, cares for and maintains relevant equipment to provide proper utilization.

     

    Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction to ensure timely repairs and patient safety.

     

    Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards to maintain a safe environment and follow infection control standards.

     

    Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards to maintain quality and safety to the public.

    Professional Accountability and Partnership:

    Maintains technical skills and technology advancement to enhance professional contributions to department.

     

    Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication for the well being and safety of patient

     

    Flexible with schedules and workload assignments in order to facilitate quality patient care and the needs of the department.

     

    Organizes flow of work. Initiates follow up action. Under limited supervision, prioritizes and handles many tasks/problems simultaneously, resolving moderately difficult problems and assisting with special projects.

     

    Relieves management of daily operational issues by responding to mail or telephone inquiries or seeking the appropriate personnel for resolution. Performs simple research, data collection and/or data entry into database.
