Job Title: Engineer

Type: 12 month Contract

Compensation: $36.00 hourly

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

System One is currently seeking an Engineer on a 12 month contract position located in Naperville, IL.

Engineer Responsibilities:

+ Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.

+ Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.

+ Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

+ Create a safe work environment by putting safety first

+ Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance

+ Understand the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance

+ Understand design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in design

+ Understand industry and Company design standards

+ Support design standard and criteria development for the system

+ Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations, estimating material for projects

+ Transmit construction packages and supporting specifications.

Engineer Requirements:

+ Introductory engineering knowledge

+ Basic problem-solving skills

+ Limited discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor

+ Basic discipline software knowledge

+ Strong work ethic

+ Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.

+ 0-5 years of related experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with ABET Accreditation

+ Preferred: Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.

+ Prior internship or co-op experience in an engineering field.

+ Ability to read and interpret engineering plans - intermediate to advanced proficiency, MS Office - intermediate proficiency, Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.

+ Preferred: CAD/GIS - basic proficiency, Hydraulic analysis experience, Project Management.
