    About the Position

    Western New York Maritime Charter School is seeking a dedicated and dependableLong-Term Substitute Teacherto lead instruction inEarth and Space Sciencefor the remainder of the school year. This is an excellent opportunity for a new or experienced educator looking to gain classroom experience in a highly structured, supportive, and mission-driven environment.

     

    All curriculum materials, pacing guides, and assessments are fully developed and provided. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and ongoing support from the Science Department and Instructional Support Team.

    Responsibilities

    + Deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Earth and Space Science

    + Implement provided curriculum and utilize established instructional materials

    + Maintain classroom structure, discipline, and engagement consistent with the school's NJROTC-based model

    + Track student progress and maintain accurate records

    + Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency and communication

    + Supervise students during instructional and transition periods

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree required (Education or Science preferred)

    + NYS Certification in Earth Science or General Science preferred, but not required

    + Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred

    + Strong classroom management skills and professional demeanor

    + Commitment to the mission and core values of Western New York Maritime Charter School

    Compensation

    + Competitive per diem or prorated salary based on experience and certification
