About you and this role
Dow is seeking the nextAnalytical TechnologistinCroydon, PA. As the Analytical Technologist, you will support manufacturing operations for Croydon, PA and potentially Bristol, PA, by partnering with plant teams to understand their analytical needs, performing complex routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, and interpreting both standard and non-standard results using statistical tools when necessary. Your goal is to ensure the delivery of high-quality data and insights that meet the expectations of both internal clients and external customers. You will use data systems to monitor analytical system performance, make modifications, as needed, for changing requirements and improvements and reports results to clients and customers. Perform complex calibration and preventive maintenance of analytical equipment and methods. Provide implementation and qualification of new analytical equipment and methods. This role requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. You will also act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities
+ Perform complex routine and non-routine analyses, modify routine methods for non-routine analysis as needed, and coach team members with less experience to gain proficiency in these methods.
+ Facilitate the sample submission process for routine and non-routine samples, reviewing all submissions for value and alignment with plant goals.
+ Manage raw materials and product retain samples and storage.
+ Schedule and perform advanced calibration and preventative maintenance of analytical systems.
+ Monitor analytical systems for reliability and performance, evaluate validity of routine and non-routine data, apply statistical tools to ensure accurate interpretation of results and takes appropriate action.
+ Conduct high level troubleshooting on analytical instrumentation and methods and escalate to experts for unique problems as appropriate.
+ Perform troubleshooting, improvement and maintenance on Laboratory Information Technology (LIT) and data handling systems.
+ Implement and qualify new analytical equipment and methods.
+ Implement improvements to lab work processes and tools.
+ Escalate non-routine requests to appropriate subject matter experts for follow-up.
Required Qualifications
+ A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ At least 2 years of laboratory, manufacturing or other related experience.
+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Your Skills
+ Analytical Expertise:Ability to perform both routine and non-routine complex analyses, interpret results using statistical tools, and take appropriate action to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
+ Instrumentation and Equipment Proficiency:Skilled in calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical systems and laboratory instruments, including implementing and qualifying new equipment and methods.
+ Data Management and IT Systems:Competent in managing laboratory information systems, capturing and archiving analytical data, and performing first-line troubleshooting of IT and data handling tools.
+ Process Alignment and Sample Management:Capable of reviewing analytical requests for value and alignment with plant goals, managing sample submissions, and scheduling work according to sample plans and contingency protocols.
+ Collaboration and Technical Support:Act as a resource for less experienced team members, partner with on-line analyzer technicians, and route analytical requests to appropriate service providers to ensure consistent and high-quality support.
