    A Software Engineer at Honeywell Intelligrated is passionate about automated control systems, a self-motivated professional, and strives to be at the leading edge of control system technology. In this role, you will impact on the design and implementation of software that supports our customers in achieving their operational goals, thereby improving their overall business performance and you’ll work out of our Mason, OH location on a Hybrid work schedule.

     

    You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of engineering projects. In this role, the Software Engineer will have the following primary responsibilities:

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Conceptualize, design, engineer, and execute industry leading projects from start to finish.

    + Develop complete and concise system Description of Operation (DOO), test plans and user guides.

    + Interface with industry leading customers.

    + Integrate cutting edge bar code reading technology to track and sort cases.

    + Deliver successful material handling solutions to the customer by developing and implementing detailed commissioning plans.

    + Attend all project-related turnover meetings, functional design reviews and team meetings.

    + Meets scope, budget, and schedule for the assigned projects.

    + Maintains and tracks issues list, reporting to Supervisor / Manager as required.

    + Completes all in-house testing and emulation.

    + Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

    + 3+ years of experience in software development, particularly in industrial automation.

    + 2 years of experience knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C++, or C# and DB SQL experience.

    + 2 years of minimum experience with software automation tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines (JIRA, SVN

    + Familiarity with industrial automation systems and protocols. Fieldbus knowledge (Profibus, EthernetIP, ControlNet etc.)

    + Ability to evaluate electrical prints and define control device requirements.

    + A valid driver’s license

    + Willingness to travel 40%, work nights and/or weekends

    WE VALUE

    + Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

    + Experience in developing software for automation and control systems.

    + PLC automation experience (Material Handling Equipment)

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    + Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
