    Overview:

    The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing outgoing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping documentation. This role ensures goods are packed and shipped on time, supporting smooth warehouse operations .

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols while handling shipments. Report hazards or incidents to management immediately.

    + Communication and Coordination:

    + Schedule carrier pickups and coordinate delivery logistics.

    + Track shipments, manage discrepancies, and resolve issues (delays or damage).

    + Shipment Preparation & Tracking

    + Receive and process shipping orders; record all order details in the system.

    + Pack, seal, label, weigh shipments, and determine appropriate carrier or method.

    + Prepare and verify shipping documents (bills of lading, invoices, manifests).

    + Inventory & Packaging Materials Management

    + Monitor inventory of packing supplies; order replacements as needed.

    + Maintain an organized, clean shipping area.

    + Quality Control & Compliance

    + Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy, damage, and compliance with shipping regulations.

    + Adhere to all safety procedures in the loading and staging areas.

    + Reporting:

    + Maintain accurate shipment logs and prepare reports for management review.

    + Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized assigned work area at all times during your scheduled shift.

    Physical Demands: Lift heavy cases up to 50 lbs. and meeting the physical demands of the role

     

    Minimum Qualifications Required

     

    + Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

    + Experience: Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.

    + Familiarity with RF scanners and picking systems is advantageous.

    + Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    + Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.

    + Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

    + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following established safety protocols at all times.
