What the day will look like
Aon Consulting, Inc. seeks a Health and Benefits Consultant - Actuary reporting to headquarters in Chicago, Illinois to develop health and benefits actuarial solutions. Perform health insurance and benefits strategy and actuarial consulting for goal setting, benchmarking, plan design, pricing strategy, budget setting, and bid/selection projects. Utilize data analytics technology, predictive modeling, and market capabilities to develop health and benefits actuarial solutions. Analyze health and benefits plan designs and group health market data. Provide financial and modeling expertise and develop novel methodologies and solutions in support of initiatives focused on creating new, scalable, and data driven solutions. Conduct Incurred but Not Reported (IBNR) analyses. Project savings and costs related to health and benefits plan design and provider network changes. Set and review health care budget rates for self-insured plans and present results. Develop actuarial and financial models at scale including forecasting, reporting, actuarial valuations, and network/cost and quality analyses. Analyze and visualize data using R and Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Develop data visualization dashboards using Power BI. Develop new analytics products by utilizing data and analytics technology, predictive modeling, and market capabilities. Provide financial and modeling expertise. Develop novel methodologies and solutions focused on creating new, scalable, data driven solutions. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the United States 5 days a week. Annual Salary: $116,900.00 - $194,900.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Financial Actuarial Mathematics, or a related field plus three years of actuarial experience. Must have at least three years of experience in each of the following: 1. Providing health insurance and benefits consulting for goal setting, benchmarking, plan design, pricing strategy, budget setting, and bid/selection projects; 2. Developing actuarial and financial models at scale including forecasting, reporting, actuarial valuations, and network/cost and quality analyses; 3. Projecting savings and costs related to health and benefits plan design and provider network changes; 4. Setting and reviewing health care budget rates for self-insured plans and presenting results; 5. Analyzing and visualizing data using R and Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint); and 6. Developing data visualization dashboards using Power BI.

Salary range or hourly pay range for the position
The salary range for this position is $116,900.00 - $194,900 annually.
