    Quality Control Inspector (Entry Level) – Vehicle Processing Facility – Joliet, IL

     

    Pay: $20.00 per hour | Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Full-Time

    Position Summary: We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our vehicle processing team. In this entry-level role, you'll inspect new vehicles as they are loaded and unloaded from rail cars, document any damage, and help manage vehicle flow through the facility. You'll also assist with data entry, safety procedures, and customer reporting. Training is provided, and this position offers excellent opportunities for advancement for reliable, motivated workers.

     

    + Key Responsibilities: You'll spend your day in the field inspecting vehicles, ensuring accuracy in documentation, and following established procedures that protect both safety and vehicle quality. Typical tasks include:

    + Inspecting vehicles for carrier damage during loading, unloading, or yard moves.

    + Verifying and documenting reported damage using tablets or other electronic tools.

    + Reporting vehicle condition data to the OEM reporting systems and the BNSF rail system.

    + Managing facility access and ensuring vehicles stay secure until repairs are completed.

    + Following all safety regulations, client guidelines, and company procedures.

    + Working both independently and as part of a close-knit team to meet daily goals.

    + Assisting at nearby facilities when needed to support operations.

    What You'll Need to Succeed:

    + High School Diploma or GED.

    + Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

    + Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and climb on and off rail cars safely.

    + Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.

    + Basic computer and data entry skills (Microsoft Office preferred).

    + Safety-first mindset and willingness to follow and promote all PPE and safety policies.

    Preferred Experience:

    Previous work in vehicle inspection, automotive quality control, or rail/yard operations is helpful but not required.

     

    Experience identifying vehicle damage or working in a logistics/transportation setting is a plus.
