Position Title: News Anchor

Reports to: News Director

KFOR-TV, Oklahoma’s News 4, is looking for a strong, dynamic, experienced News Anchor to join our award-winning team. For 76 years, Channel 4 has been building a legacy of trust with the community. We provide more hours of news and weather than any other television station in our state and we do it in a way unlike the competition. Our impactful reporting has helped change laws, assisted in the exoneration of the wrongly accused and served as a beacon for those who still believe in serious Journalism. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Presents content for broadcast, digital and CTV in an engaging and professional manner

+ Compelling storyteller

+ Writes and presents news stories clearly and concisely

+ Assists in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating news programming and other content

+ Responds urgently to breaking news and other time-sensitive newsrooms situations

+ Participates in promotional activities including public appearances

+ Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

+ Writes content for the website and other digital platforms

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

+ Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to communicate (written and oral), across all platforms and to ad lib when required

+ Superior on-air presence

+ Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of current events, history, newsmakers and issues

+ Experience guiding, directing and motivating others

+ Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

+ Flexibility to work varied shifts.
