Job Description
The Driver is responsible to provide safe and timely transportation of our members and creates the most positive memorable experiences every day. The Driver will perform transportation duties in a safe and professional manner, while providing first class customer service.
Essential functions

+ Transport persons served to and from CSI/Co-op related outings or other events/activities. Assist ambulatory passengers as needed. Provide professional, courteous service.
+ Coordinate outing schedules with management.
+ Operate organization's vehicle in compliance with organizational, state and federal regulations.
+ Maintain vehicle cleanliness, interior and exterior.
+ Monitor vehicle maintenance and performance through regularly scheduled inspections and service repair. Report safety and maintenance concerns to supervisor.
+ Record mileage for all trips; maintain various vehicle logs as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Communications skills: All drivers must be able to read and speak English well enough to understand road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with law enforcement officers and the public.
+ Stress Management: The ability to keep functioning effectively when under pressure and maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation. Remains calm under stress. Can effectively handle several problems or tasks at once. Controls his/her response when criticized, attacked or provoked. Manages own behavior to prevent or reduce feelings of stress.

Requirements
Work environmentDrivers will work in an environment that is frequently exposed to varying weather conditions.
Physical demands
+ Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time.
+ Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.
+ Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with patients.
+ Exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
+ Requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
+ Must be able to lift/move up to 50lbs, bend, maintain stationary position, move freely, operate equipment, ascend/descend freely, and position self to reach equipment above or below normal standing height
Travel requiredDrivers are required to travel frequently between co-ops, meetings, conferences and other designated areas as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Required education and experience
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Must hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.
+ High school diploma or equivalent and fluency in English required. Depending on assigned area, knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.
+ Satisfactory completion of a company training program in passenger assistance techniques, sensitivity training, and map reading, or demonstrated competence based on previous employment experience
+ Knowledge of state traffic laws.
+ Ability to professionally and cooperatively work with staff, management, family members and general public.
Work authorization/security clearance requirementsDepartment of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees—citizens, residents, and nonresidents—to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. Employees are not allowed to work in the United States until the Form I-9 is completed and properly documented.
