    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the financial and operational recordkeeping of our manufacturing and wholesale business. This role requires full proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise for Manufacturing and Wholesale, a strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, and comprehensive experience with inventory management and purchasing processes.

     

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with inventory control, bidding processes, and purchasing, and will be able to accurately track ownership transfer points using FOB (Free on Board) principles. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financials and supporting operational efficiency across departments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Accounting & Bookkeeping:

    • Maintain accurate financial records using

     

    QuickBooks Enterprise.

     

    • Record daily transactions, journal entries, and adjustments in accordance with full accrual accounting principles.

    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing vendor bills, issuing invoices, sending statements, and handling collections.

    • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis.

    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

    • Collaborate with management and/or external accountants to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

    Inventory Management & Purchasing

    • Utilize the QuickBooks inventory management system to record, track, and reconcile inventory transactions.

    • Oversee inventory control, including cycle counts, work-in-process (WIP) tracking, physical counts, and inventory reconciliations.

    • Maintain accurate inventory valuation, costing, and adjustments.

    • Manage purchasing activities, create and track purchase orders, match receiving documents, and resolve vendor discrepancies.

    • Apply a strong understanding of FOB shipping and FOB destination terms to determine accurate transfer of ownership and timing for receiving goods.

    • Participate in and assist with semi-annual and year-end physical inventory counts.

    • Support the bidding process, including gathering quotes, comparing costs, and maintaining bid records.

    Administrative & Customer Support

    • Provide professional customer service—handle inquiries, send customer statements, and perform collection calls when necessary.

    • Maintain organized and accurate digital and physical filing systems for invoices, purchase orders, and financial records.

    • Assist with general office duties, including answering phones and providing administrative support.

    Compensation:

    $20/hr to $28/hr.

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of

    the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this

    Skills and Requirements

    •3+ years of bookkeeping experience in a manufacturing or wholesale environment.

    • Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise (Manufacturing & Wholesale edition) and its inventory management system.

    • Deep understanding of full accrual accounting principles.

    • Strong knowledge of inventory cycles, including work-in-process (WIP) and cost tracking.

    • Knowledge of FOB Free and FOB Shipping terms and ability to determine transfer of ownership during purchasing and receiving.

    • Experience with bidding processes and vendor cost comparison.

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to maintain clean, organized, and accurate files.

    • Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Experience assisting with financial reporting

    • Experience assisting with CPA coordination.

    • Familiarity with manufacturing costing and inventory control methods.

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
