Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking experienced Systems Engineer to join the program in Colorado Springs, CO. This program plays a critical role in advancing global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) capabilities.
As part of the Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) team, you will contribute to the modernization of ground systems that control and manage the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) payloads across all Boeing-built satellites (F1–F12). Your work will span the full lifecycle—from concept and design through deployment, sustainment, and ongoing support—giving you the opportunity to make a significant impact on mission success.

Position Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to revamp and modernize system and hardware architectures, transitioning legacy solutions into contemporary, high-performance platforms.
- Oversee the retooling of outdated products, including: Migrating from older Cisco hardware to modern configurations.
- Formalizing and stabilizing a fractured Java baseline, incorporating Java 21 while managing legacy Java 8 components.
- Define and manage requirements across the V-model, with a strong emphasis on the requirements side while maintaining visibility and influence on both ends of the lifecycle.
- Utilize Cisco hardware expertise and Jira for requirements tracking, issue management, and workflow optimization.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure modernization efforts align with program objectives, technical standards, and customer expectations.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Estimated Pay Rage: $68 - $74 / hour
*The pay rate for this position may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, certifications, and location. Additionally, the final pay rate may be contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment requirements such as background checks, drug testing, and physical examinations.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
- Experience with the full System Engineering Lifecycle, particularly with System Requirements
- Experience with Cisco Hardware
- Experience with Jira and Confluence - Knowledge of Model-based Systems Engineering, process and tools
- Knowledge of DOORS and DOORS requirements management
