    The role you'll contribute:

    Responsible for assisting with coordinating the daily nontechnical activities of the Laboratory and providing orientation and training for newly hired staff. This role ensures the distribution of workload for rapid turnaround of order collections and specimen processing in the absence of the Supervisor, and acts as the primary provider of updated in-service. Other expectations may include performing point of care testing and non-technical tasks, if applicable, and delivering quality phlebotomy services while assisting with patient flow as needed.

    The value you'll bring to the team:

    + May perform venipuncture and microtainer collection accurately and efficiently.

    + Ensures specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received properly.

    + Processes and prepares laboratory specimens for testing, including separating specimens by centrifugation.

    + May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.

    + May document equipment temperatures, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment.

    + Monitors reference lab reports and requests results that are overdue.

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    **Minimum qualifications** :

    + High School Grad or Equiv Required

    + 2 experience in laboratory setting as laboratory assistant or phlebotomist [Required]
