Product Development Lead, Theragnostic Delivery System (TDS)
PURPOSE
The Product Development Lead (PDL) is a key member of the Molecular Imaging Product Team for TDS (Theragnostic Delivery System) and serves as the representative for all R&D/Development-related topics on the Product Team.
As a key member of the Product Team, you will contribute to the overarching success of the product by closely collaborating with the Product Team Lead and other Product Team members to ensure product readiness and availability, product reliability and performance, as well as supporting further strategic life cycle management efforts.
As the Lead of the multi-functional Product Development Team, you will drive the development aspects of the program from Product Design Requirement/Design Freeze (DP2/DP3) through launch and stabilization (DP6).
This role reports to the Head of Radiology R&D and serves as a key leader, contributing to operational, strategic, and business success.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Product Development Lead TDS, are to:
+ Oversee a flexible development approach in collaboration with external partners, ensuring adaptability and alignment with strategic goals;
+ Define, plan, and execute key development milestones (DP2/3 to DP6), while establishing the product scope through the Target Value Profile (TVP);
+ Collaborate with the core team to align on the Product Development Process (PDP) and associated strategies, jointly developing alternative development scenarios that consider risk, benefit, budget, and timeline implications;
+ Lead and contribute to regular, structured program reviews to enhance development efficiency, identify critical success factors early, support portfolio analysis, manage risks, and inform decision-making;
+ Ensure timely, transparent, and objective communication of program status and challenges between the Product Development Team and the broader Product Team;
+ Set ambitious, program-specific objectives for team members, aligned with the Product Team’s mission and short-, mid-, and long-term goals;
+ Drive the execution of the development strategy by securing necessary resources and budget in close coordination with relevant capability clusters;
+ Provide consistent feedback on contributions to program objectives and actively seek input from team members to improve leadership effectiveness and team collaboration.
+ This role will be residence-based in the United States.

WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or other relevant field;
+ Extensive experience in medical device product development and/or program management;
+ Knowledgeable in areas of product development, including hardware and software;
+ Proven track record across medical device development, regulatory approval, product launch, and life cycle management;
+ Entrepreneurial mindset with the courage to challenge the status quo and strive for continuous improvement;
+ Strategic thinker with the ability to influence decision-making and strong stakeholder management capabilities;
+ Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and manage a cross-functional team, along with problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities;

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical device product development and/or program management
+ Experience with new plant design, construction, and start-up;
+ Knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and the ability to immediately communicate discovery of spills and leaks;
+ Familiarity with labeling, inspection, and recordkeeping requirements for waste accumulation in satellite accumulation areas, containers, and tanks.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $154,433.60 - $231,650.40. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
