We strive to help students become the core of their learning experiences through co-created leadership and involvement opportunities that cultivate a sense of belonging and empower personal growth and development.
Student Leadership & Involvement ( SLI ) serves students by providing leadership and involvement opportunities within the department and by connecting students to these types of opportunities on campus. Whether students are interested in starting or joining a Recognized Student Organization ( RSO ) or participating in a Leadership Development program, SLI is here to facilitate these important connections. SLI is a department within the division of Student Affairs at the University of Utah and is located in the “Student Involvement Wing” of the Union Building – Union 235. Position Overview
The Campus Connect & RSO Engagement Specialist plays a key role in enhancing student involvement and visibility of Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) at the University of Utah and expanding the student usage of Campus Connect. This position supports the marketing of Campus Connect to student and RSO users, provides direct engagement and support to RSOs around Campus Connect, and contributes to large-scale event execution and media initiatives that impact RSOs and students in connecting with RSOs.
Responsibilities
Campus Connect Support for Students & RSOs
+ Promote Campus Connect to students through tabling, outreach, and presentations.
+ Develop and implement creative media marketing strategies for Campus Connect to increase student and RSO utilization.
+ Provide support for RSOs in navigating and enhancing their RSOs presence and utilization of Campus Connect
+ Collaborate with the Student Leadership & Involvement ( SLI ) team to increase platform engagement.
RSO Engagement & Support
+ Provide one-on-one drop-in support to RSOs, including guidance on registration, event planning, and funding.
+ Serve as a liaison between RSOs and the SLI team to ensure consistent communication and resource sharing.
Event Support
+ Assist with planning and execution of large-scale campus events, including Get Involved Fair.
+ Provide on-site support including setup, logistics, and student engagement.
+ Media & Podcast Collaboration ensuring multimodal methods of engaging students in leadership development.
+ Work with the SLI team to develop and facilitate podcast content.
+ Conduct interviews and assist with production logistics for student-focused media projects.
Tabling & Outreach
+ Represent SLI and Campus Connect at tabling events across campus.
+ Engage students in conversations about involvement opportunities and upcoming events.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Current University of Utah student
Preferences
+ Marketing experience
+ Experience with social media, Canva, or recordings tools/software is a plus.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Interest in student engagement, marketing, and event planning.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
