Our **Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)** is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.
As the **Engineering Technical Team Manager,** you will lead the Core Machine Software team in the Intelligent Machine Systems organization of Cat Technology. The team is responsible for the integration and validation of software libraries to establish a common platform for machine software builds. The team also owns and maintains the machine software build processes and provides analysis and guidance on numerous detailed technical issues related to software configuration and variant management.

What You Will Do:
• Provide leadership and performance management to engineering staff
• Develop, monitor, and continuously improve software processes and activities
• provide subject matter expertise in technical matters related to software implementation
• provide strategic input to matters related to software development processes and methods
What You Will Have (Basic Requirements):
• **Education Requirement:** Requires a degree in an accredited Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• **Technical Excellence:** Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
• **Collaborating Globally:** Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results.
• **Influencing Through Expertise:** Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
• **Troubleshooting Technical Problems:** Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.
What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have/Preferred Skills):
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Experience with the tools used in the Caterpillar software development environment
• Strong technical software background with demonstrated problem solving skills

Summary Pay Range:
$156,000.00 - $234,000.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
