CAH- ASU - Registered Nurse- Full Time-Day Shift- 7a-3:30pm + Call – Req 8945

Pay Range $37.72-$53.45*

The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served. He/she ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit’s standards of care. He /she demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department.

REPORTS TO:

+ OR Nurse Manager

EDUCATION:

Required:

+ Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

Preferred:

+ Bachelor's of Nursing

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:

+ Valid NYS RN licensure

+ Valid BLS, ACLS and PALS within six(6)months of hire

Preferred:

+ Peri-Op 101 Certification

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Required:

+ At least 5 years of Medical/Surgical experience

+ Basic Computer knowledge

+ Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information

+ Maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies

+ Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security

+ Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities

+ Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy as it pertains to the monitoring and documentation of information

+ Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients

+ Acknowledging changes in a patient’s condition or behavior, and promptly reporting these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel
