POSITION SUMMARY
The **Vice President, Advanced Systems and Technology – Station & Mission Services** serves as a senior technology leader responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of system and technology solutions supporting Axiom’s orbital station operations and mission services. This role leads cross-functional engineering, software, and systems teams to design, integrate, and sustain the technologies that enable safe, reliable, and scalable mission operations in low Earth orbit and beyond. The VP will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, guiding innovation, digital infrastructure, and automation initiatives that enhance mission readiness, operational excellence, and customer experience for both government and commercial partners.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ **Strategic Leadership & Vision**
+ Develop and execute the technology roadmap for Station & Mission Services in alignment with corporate and program objectives.
+ Partner with executive leadership to define and deliver technology capabilities that support current and future orbital missions.
+ Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mission control, communications, and data systems.
+ **Program & Project Oversight**
+ Oversee end-to-end delivery of technology systems that enable station operations, crew management, and mission execution.
+ Lead the development, integration, and certification of hardware and software solutions supporting flight operations and mission readiness.
+ Ensure compliance with NASA and international spaceflight standards, cybersecurity requirements, and ITAR regulations.
+ **Team & Organizational Leadership**
+ Build, mentor, and lead multidisciplinary teams across software engineering, IT infrastructure, systems integration, and data analytics.
+ Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration within a high-performance environment.
+ Manage department budgets, resource allocations, and vendor relationships to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
+ **Technical Execution & Governance**
+ Provide technical oversight for mission-critical systems architecture, ground systems, and real-time data networks.
+ Ensure mission technologies are designed for scalability, redundancy, and resilience to support 24/7 operations.
+ Champion best practices in cybersecurity, digital asset protection, and cloud-based mission support environments.
+ **Stakeholder Engagement**
+ Serve as the key technology liaison between Station & Mission Services and internal/external stakeholders, including NASA, industry partners, and commercial customers.
+ Support business development and customer solution design through technical presentations, proposals, and partnership discussions.
+ Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.
+ Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Perform additional job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Systems, or a related technical field; advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred.
+ 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in aerospace, defense, or mission-critical technology environments, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles.
+ Proven success leading technology programs for spaceflight operations, ground systems, or spacecraft mission support.
+ Deep understanding of systems engineering, software development life cycles, and integration of flight and ground systems.
+ Demonstrated experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams and complex technology programs with external partners and regulatory oversight.
+ Familiarity with NASA standards, human spaceflight operations, and ITAR/export compliance.
+ Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to bridge technical detail and executive priorities.
+ U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance may be necessary depending on project assignments.
+ Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
+ Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
+ Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
+ Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
Physical Requirements
