    Responsibilities

    Noblis has an opportunity for a Senior Surveillance Systems Engineer who will be responsible for leading the integration of key technical aspects of FAA surveillance systems, services, and programs in support of the design, development, deployment, and eventual decommissioning of these technologies throughout the National Airspace System (NAS).

     

    This individual will be responsible for integration of systems engineering work across numerous air traffic control surveillance programs.

     

    The individual for this position will work within a diverse group of government and industry organizations to develop products including technical analyses, requirements documents, avionics standards, interface requirements documents, etc.

     

    In addition, this person will support, provide input to, and perform specification development, design reviews, integration activities, test and evaluation, requirements management, configuration control, risk management, and other engineering efforts to acquire and deploy a nationwide surveillance infrastructure and validate it's suitability for air traffic operations.

    Qualifications:

    + Direct experience working with current FAA surveillance technologies including ground-based cooperative and noncooperative radars and space-based surveillance solutions

    + Deep knowledge of the FAA system engineering processes and Acquisition Management System (AMS).

    + Demonstrated ability in leading engineering efforts on multiple large scale NAS surveillance programs including the planning, tracking and completion of engineering activities to achieve key program milestones.

    + Experience as a solution integrator or program advisor successfully transitioning programs from concept to implementation at the FAA

    + Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse technical and managerial audiences.

    + Experience with computer systems, systems engineering design products, document processing, spreadsheets, engineering analysis tools, test tools, and presentation development applications is necessary

    Required Qualifications

    + The candidate for this position must have a demonstrated ability in leading engineering efforts on multiple large scale NAS surveillance programs including the planning, tracking and completion of engineering activities to achieve key program milestones.

    + Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must with the ability to present technical information to diverse technical and managerial audiences.

    + Experience with computer systems, systems engineering design products, document processing, spreadsheets, engineering analysis tools, test tools, and presentation development applications is necessary

    + U.S. citizen or green card permanent resident (3+ years U.S residency)

    Level I** ** 

    + 0-4 years or more in surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems isrequired.

    + The individual for this position must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university.

    Substitution:

    + Highschool and 4-8 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience

    **Salary Range:** $71,800 - $112,150

    Level II** ** 

    + 5-9 years or more in surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems isrequired.

    + The individual for this position must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university.

    Substitution:** ** 

    + Highschool and 9-13 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience.

    + Masters and 3-7 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience

    + PHDand 0-4 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience

    **Salary Range:** ** ** $78,900 - $123,300

    Level III** ** 

    + 10-15 years or more in surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems isrequired.

    + The individual for this position must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university.

    Substitution:** **  

    + Highschool and 14-19 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience.

    + Master’s and 8-13 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience

    + PHD and 5-10 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience

    **Salary Range: ** $95,500 - $149,200

    Level IV** ** 

    + 16-24 years or more in surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems isrequired.

    + The individual for this position must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university.

    **Substitution** :

    + Highschool and 20-28 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience.

    + Master’s and 14-22 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systems experience

    + PHD and 11-19 years of surveillance systems, air traffic automation, and related systemsexperience.

    **Salary Range: ** $127,100 - $198,575

    Desired Qualifications

    + Experience with FAA surveillance technologies, including cooperative/non-cooperative ground-based radars and space-based ADS-B systems.

    + Strong knowledge of FAA systems engineering processes and the Acquisition Management System (AMS).

    + Proven ability to lead engineering and integration activities across large-scale NAS surveillance programs from concept through implementation.

    + Skilled in requirements development, interface control, verification and validation, configuration management, and risk assessment.

    + Proficiency with engineering and analysis tools such as DOORS, Cameo, MATLAB, or similar, and with standard documentation and presentation applications.

    + Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information to technical and management audiences.

    + Demonstrated success collaborating with government, industry, and contractor teams to achieve program objectives.

    + Familiarity with FAA NextGen initiatives, surveillance data integration, and system decommissioning planning.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet milestones, and mentor junior engineers.

    + Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one preferred.

    Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
