    JOB SUMMARY

    The Office of the Vice President for Research (https://ovpr.uconn.edu/) (OVPR) is competitively recruiting talented grants and contracts/sponsored project professionals to join our growing research administration team. Sponsored Program Services (https://ovpr.uconn.edu/services/sps/) (SPS) is responsible for administering a portfolio of $368M (https://research.uconn.edu/) in annually awarded funding across all UConn campuses and UConn Health. We are a top-ranked (https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/uconn-29013/overall-rankings) public research university and land grant institution, rurally situated in the “Quiet Corner (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiet\_Corner) ” of Northeast Connecticut. We invite your application for the following open position, which performs pre- and post-award administrative duties related to the management of research grants. It is important to note that this role will need to be conducted on site on occasion in Storrs, CT.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Serves as primary point of contact for triaging a large volume of internal and external email correspondence across various teams within SPS office.

    + Maintains internal records of grant applications and information, including budget details, correspondence, submitted applications, budget justifications, etc.

    + Maintains internal grant management database with grant submissions, incoming agreements, outgoing subawards, and related account information.

    + Corresponds with administrators from other institutions and federal sponsor contacts.

    + Performs related work.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s degree in related field and one year of related experience; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    + Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience.

    + Experience developing or working with budgets.

    + Demonstrated experience performing financial transactions.

    + Experience developing financial reports.

    + Experience working with grants and contracts.

    + Experience working in a higher education environment.

    APPOINTMENT TERMS

    This is a permanent, full-time position, with a schedule of 35 hours per week, based on the main campus in Storrs, Connecticut and will need to be conducted on site on occasion in Storrs, CT.
