Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school graduate or GED or equivalent years of education.
+ No experience required.
Job Summary:
Phlebotomist performs collection of blood samples through the use of skin puncture and venipuncture techniques.
Job Duties:
+ Properly identifies patient, draws blood samples and sends to laboratory for analysis.
+ Identifies patients according to hospital protocol prior to specimen collection.
+ Assesses problems related to transport of specimens, laboratory data, and difficult blood collections and determines appropriate action.
+ Ensure that blood is properly acquired by means of venipuncture, skin puncture, or arterial collection.
+ May transport the specimen to the correct laboratory.
+ May be required to utilize company vehicle for business purposes (i.e., specimen collection or delivery), after completion of required safety training.
+ Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties.
+ Reviews and suggests revisions for policies and procedures, as assigned.
+ Adheres to all safety protocols in each laboratory area.
+ Adheres to internal controls established for department.
+ Performs related duties as required.
**Salary Range:** Actual salary commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
On-site, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and as needed on occasion.
