Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Carry out research in controlled environment horticulture, including planning and running experiments.
Collect, organize, and analyze data.
Write and contribute to peer-reviewed journal articles and research reports.
Share research results through presentations at scientific conferences and professional meetings.
Work closely with graduate students and other team members to support ongoing research projects.
Perform other related duties as needed to support the research program.
Required Education:
Ph.D. in Horticulture or a related field.
Preferred Experience:
Strong background in controlled environment agriculture (e.g., greenhouse or growth chamber research).
Experience with experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
Experience with sensor-based data collection and environmental monitoring systems.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Demonstrated ability to publish research in peer-reviewed journals.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative research team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:
Knowledge of plant physiology, lighting systems (e.g., LEDs), irrigation, or nutrient management in controlled environments.
Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., R, SAS, Python, or similar).
Equipment Used: standard research equipment such as light emitting diodes, data logger, environmental sensors, LI-COR gas exchange system, fluorometer.
Part time position (20 hours per week) due to funding limitation. The position is available from Jan-Dec. 2026
