    Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Ambassador (3rd shift)

    **Location:** ProAmpac's Walden, NY Manufacturing Facility

    **Schedule:** Monday – Friday (Overnight) from 9pm - 5am

    Position Overview

    As an **EHS Technician** , you’ll play a key role in supporting ProAmpac’s safety, health, and environmental initiatives. Working closely with the EHS team, you’ll help ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a culture of safety throughout our facility.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Support the implementation of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and programs across the site.

    + Assist with EHS recordkeeping, reporting, inspections, and compliance activities.

    + Participate in safety and environmental training programs to ensure employee understanding and compliance.

    + Conduct monthly inspections and maintain environmental documentation as required by permits and regulations.

    + Support initiatives related to hazardous waste management, cost reduction, and accident prevention.

    + Assist in onboarding and safety orientation for new hires, contractors, and visitors (including PIV certification when needed).

    + Collaborate with the site safety committee to identify and correct potential hazards.

    + Participate in risk assessments, audits, and process evaluations to ensure safe manufacturing operations.

    + Maintain awareness and compliance with ISO standards and food safety practices (GMPs).

    + Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Experience

    + **Interest or background in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS),** or a related discipline.

    + **Bachelor's degree in science** or environmental studies **preferred**

    + **2+ years of experience** in a manufacturing environment **Preferred**

    + Active involvement in site safety initiatives or committees.

    + Strong safety record and consistent participation in engagement programs.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Visio preferred).

    + Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and presentation.

    + Strong time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.

    + Proactive and self-motivated with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

    + Professional demeanor with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Environment

    + Primarily in a climate-controlled office setting with periodic exposure to manufacturing areas.

    + Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety shoes, and vision protection is required when on the production floor.

    + May occasionally be exposed to dust, non-toxic odors, mechanical parts, high noise levels, and warm/humid conditions.

    Wage:

    + $21/hour + $1/hour overnight Shift premium
