Job Summary and Qualifications

+ Leads key staff meetings

+ Provides leadership to effectively manage departments operations as measured through FTE’s, Core Measures and financial expectations being met on an annual basis

+ Manages staff performance through regular reviews90 dayand annual

+ Ensures new employees are oriented to specific job duties through review of orientation checklist within90daysof hire

+ Develops direction for staff

+ Rounds on employees

+ Responsible for scheduling staff/facility scheduler

+ Responsible for Kronos editing

+ Responsible for 1:1 data and management

+ Responsible for managing PLUS/FPC for departments

+ Completes/edits incident reports as needed

+ Maintenance/safety rounds of unit

+ Plan, direct, or coordinatemedically-approvedrecreation programs inbehavioralhealth environment.

+ Observe, analyze, and record patients’ participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions,modifyingtreatment programs as needed

+ Develop treatmentplanto meet needs ofpatientbased on needs assessment, patientinterestsandobjectivesof therapy.

+ Encourage clients with special needs and circumstances toacquirenew skills and get involved in health-promoting leisure activities such as sports, games,arts and craftsand gardening

+ Confer with members of treatment team to plan and evaluate therapy programs

+ Obtain information from medical records, medical staff, familymembersand the patient to assesspatient’scapabilities,needsand interests.

+ Planorganize direct andparticipatein treatment programs and activities tofacilitatepatient’s rehabilitation and integrate into the community

+ Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provideappropriate carefor patient populations served in his/her department.

+ Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span andpossessesthe ability to assess data reflective of the patient's requirementsrelativeto his/her age-specific needs.

+ Demonstrate knowledge to assess, plan, and evaluate care in coordination with the health care team across the continuum

+ Assesses and plans for the therapeutic leisure needs of the patient.

+ Plan andfacilitateholiday/seasonal activities for all patient milieu

+ Plan andfacilitatefundraisers for holiday/seasonal programs

+ Rotates weekend on call.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Bachelors Degree

+ (RecTherapy) Recreational Therapist, or (CTRS) Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

These include Parkridge Valley Adult and Senior. These include Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent campus. These also include Parkridge Valley Cleveland and Parkridge Valley West. Parkridge Valley West is a behavioral health hospital. We offer adult inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. These are offered to residents of Marion and its surrounding counties.
