    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general supervision of the Director, the Program Aide is responsible for assisting in the daily administrative tasks and providing assistance with engagement activities for seniors in the program. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

     

    • Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming reception area • Greet all members and visitors and notify appropriate staff of visitors as needed • Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls to appropriate personnel • Responsible for scanning client barcodes for tracking attendance, congregate meals, and other activities as needed • Assist in collecting daily meal contributions from members and guests • Maintain a record of sign-in sheets for members and visitors • Enter participant data into the funding source database • Assist in setting up classes and or activities as needed • Lead low-level participatory classes as needed, i.e. Book Club, Short Story, Alert, and Alive, etc. • Receive and sort packages and other correspondence • Other related duties as required by the Director

     

    COMPETENCIES • Bilingual English/Spanish required • Possess a genuine concern for helping with the physical, mental, and emotional needs of older persons • Ability to provide quality care with compassion, patience, and empathy • Ability to work collaboratively as a team • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail • Ability to be reliable and flexible • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • A creative self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite required, with the ability to learn database maintenance • Commitment to RiseBoro’s mission, vision, and values • Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities • Demonstrated commitment to supporting communities that have experienced systemic oppression and bias (i.e. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.)

     

    EDUCATION EXPERIENCE • High School Diploma or equivalent • 1 year of community senior center or customer service-related experience required
