Job Description
Reporting directly to FISA-OPA's Financial Systems Deputy Director of Application Support, the Application Support Analyst will perform a set of production and non-production support activities, with a focus on Sterling Integrator (GIS) administrative duties. The primary role of the Application Support Analyst is to:
Perform routine GIS administrative duties:
- Perform routine production environment support requests, including, but not limited to the following:
- Creating inbound and outbound mailboxes
- Coordinating with the security team to authorize GIS user ID’s to mailboxes
- Deleting inbound files from agency inbound mailbox if requested by agency coordination teams
- Providing information on mailbox content to application teams for the purposes of problem resolution
- Performing problem determination by researching GIS logs, GIS application server logs, Perimeter server logs, FMS/3 application server logs
- Coordinating with agency for initial setup of mailbox through configuration and implementation of security certificates
Perform advanced GIS administrative duties
- Open cases with Sterling for problem determination BPML maintenance, for example, adding a new agency for the vendor extracts
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, e.g., space management on file system and database
- Create RM’s as necessary to track changes made to the production GIS configuration
- Attend training as directed by management
Manage and execute special projects to operationalize new GIS based interfaces and new GIS functionalities. GIS projects include, but are not limited to the following:
- Creation of BPML rules that will decrypt an inbound transmission when received to a particular mailbox
- Creation of BPML rule that will encrypt and push an encrypted file to an external partner
- Rollout of GIS to banks for Cash Receipt collection. App support staff will communicate with bank as necessary to establish and test connectivity and data in production and non-production environments.
- Rollout of new perimeter server
- Provide rapid response to problems, solving or escalating the problem as necessary
- Write and/or review operational procedures
- Document operational problems following standards and procedures
- Create and execute procedures to verify that software components were successfully and completely migrated to production
- Set up and/or review jobs and scripts
- Coordinate the use of testing environments including their configuration and data content
- Assist the testing staff with resolution of issues and running shell scripts and JCL jobs
- Report on the status of problems at daily production review meetings
Preferred Skills
- Strong to moderate experience in AIX/Unix including scripting and debugging shell scripts.
- Sterling Integrator (GIS) experience, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of BPML rules, mailbox management, and Perimeter server configuration.
- Strong to moderate experience In Oracle database.
- Experience in MVS/z/OS JCL and utilities a plus.
- 3 years experience working on a mainframe platform performing activities involving setting up or running batch processes/cycle flows.
- 5 years experience with hands-on work with executing and performing preliminary troubleshooting activities involving: scheduler, batch processes, and cycle flows.
- Minimum 5 years experience providing production support and issue resolution as a business or technical analyst

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
