Position Summary
The Front Desk Associate serves as the first point of contact for all members, guests, and visitors of the Health & Fitness Center. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining a welcoming environment, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk area. The associate assists with administrative tasks, member inquiries, scheduling, and coordination of club programs and services.
Basic Functions
+ Greet and assist all members and guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
+ Conduct fitness center facility walk-through every hour to ensure a safe working environment.
+ Manage front desk operations including phone calls, check-ins, and appointment scheduling.
+ Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk lobby area, women’s & men’s weight area along with spa, group fitness rooms and cardio area.
+ Process daily transactions such as service charges, merchandise purchases, and group fitness classes.
+ Support the Fitness Director and team with administrative tasks, special events and club communications.
+ Ensure that all club policies, safety procedures, and service standards are consistently upheld.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly and professionally to member inquiries, concerns, or requests.
+ Accurately check in members and verify club access according to established procedures.
+ Receive incoming phone calls, answer fitness center questions, schedule spa appointments and direct calls to the appropriate person.
+ Maintain accurate records of daily usage, guest sign-ins, and incident reports.
+ Monitor fitness center and facility amenities; report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
+ Assist with restock service, inventory management, and front desk supplies.
+ Support club communication efforts by posting signage, updating schedules, and distributing information to members.
+ Provide equipment orientations, assist with equipment settings and demonstrate proper usage of equipment.
+ Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive member experience.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
+ Professional appearance and positive, energetic attitude.
+ Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, POS systems, email).
+ Must be able to lift to 25 pounds (e.g., beverages, supplies).
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Flexible hours include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club operations.
+ CRP/AED certification
+ Familiarity with fitness programs, membership systems, or scheduling software is a plus.
+ Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness environment preferred.
+ Ability to multitask and handle busy, fast-paced environments.
