    The Engineer in Product Innovation will work across various departments to support product and process development of advanced systems and ensure smooth and successful integration into a production environment.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Offer direction to others related to the key outputs associated with model creation, tooling strategies, project coordination, and quality frameworks.

    • Understand, apply, and translate and communicate complex or ambiguous customer requirements into practical strategies for product creation.

    • Execute activities related to pre-production planning, including definition of component list, operational guidelines, time estimates, tooling design, evaluation criteria, understanding and application of quality requirements, etc. to ensure that the product meets the customer’s requirements and is completed punctually and cost-effectively.

    • Supports all aspects of engineering assessments.

    • Ensure records comply with quality standards, contractual and regulatory requirements.

    • Creates engineering documentation and verifications by recording test outcomes.

    • Interacts and works jointly with clients to effectively support and suggest relevant analyses, enhancements, and evaluations for their products or technology.

    • Establishes and cultivates a collaborative network (design, quality, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments.

    • Based on knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing process anticipate engineering dependencies and provide backup strategies to mitigate project and manufacturing risks.

    • Using manufacturing-oriented design principles and an understanding of current manufacturing capabilities, convert client specifications into reasonable product specifications.

    • Support development builds associated with designated initiatives.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • undergraduate degree in engineering or physical science from an recognized academic institution.

    • General understanding and working knowledge of common engineering concepts & applications including analytical instruments (e.g., Gage R&R, DOE, process capability, SPC, etc.).

    • Experience in a production environment is desirable.

    • Demonstrated strong economic insight and uses this knowledge to influence short- and long-term financial decisions of key projects, including investment costs.

    • Exhibits clear interaction (verbal and written) with functional managers, project leaders, co-workers, and customers. Including the ability effectively summarize and communicate engineering data to internal and external customers.

    • Proficient at recording workflows, verification procedures and documentation (technical and non-technical), and test methods.

    • Demonstrated expert level working knowledge of concepts and applications related to engineering/scientific discipline and/or role both internal and external to the Company.

    • Exposure to ongoing enhancement strategies and methodologies.

    • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

    • Exposure to coordination methodologies and practices.

    • Understand and follow the Company’s quality framework and record-keeping standards.

    This is a Permanent position based out of New Ulm, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
