Job Title: Building Automation Project Engineer
Job Description
Join our team as a Building Automation Systems Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing projects that involve the implementation of complex building automation systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the seamless integration and operation of these systems, contributing to creating smarter and more sustainable environments.
Responsibilities
+ Manage, schedule, and budget assigned project work independently.
+ Define, oversee, and commission the implementation of complex building automation systems, focusing on large networks, third-party integration, and complex systems.
+ Serve as a technical expert in system troubleshooting and system definition, both remotely and on-site.
+ Provide detailed design and operation information to the field installation team.
+ Review and approve materials, including DDC modules and associated control devices, to meet specifications and standards.
+ Develop software and graphics solutions tailored to specific project needs.
+ Offer troubleshooting and technical support to the operations install team.
+ Execute and manage commissioning tasks within budget.
+ Assist the operations manager and field supervisor in training and mentoring team members.
+ Act as a liaison between the field installation team and the engineering team, focusing on third-party integrations.
+ Troubleshoot communication and control issues to ensure a trouble-free customer network upon project completion.
+ Develop and adjust project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects.
+ Document project delays, scope changes, and other incidents to ensure smooth operations.
+ Pursue cost-saving opportunities to enhance project profitability.
+ Conduct critical path analysis and implement work-around plans for successful project completion.
+ Conduct meetings and present progress reports related to project business aspects.
+ Identify and address project problems, recommending solutions such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC with a focus on building automation controls.
+ Strong problem-solving, planning, and project management skills.
+ Ability to read and understand the scope of work.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
+ Field experience in installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls.
+ Proficiency in third-party control systems and integrations.
+ Experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder, InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon, Supervision, and Accel Works.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior experience in Construction, HVAC, and/or Building Automation is preferred.
Work Environment
This position covers the NY and NJ territory. Candidates will drive their own vehicles and receive reimbursement for daily expenses, including tolls and mileage up to 56 miles per day. Direct reporting to the Clifton office is not required; candidates can travel directly to job sites from their homes. Reimbursement is provided for parking and tolls. Upon transitioning to a full-time role, additional benefits include a company car, EZ pass, and company credit card. Typical working hours are from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with no on-call shifts in the install group.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Queens, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
